amber and jeremy say i do

On Saturday Amber and Jeremy made it official! They were married at the always beautiful Indiana State Museum and the weather was perfect! Jeremy and I were fraternity brothers at Purdue and I knew all of his groomsmen. It was great to see them again! Amber looked beautiful and was decked out with some amazing jewelry. Jeremy looked pretty good too with his White Sox cuff links. Moments before the bridal party's entrance during the ceremony two large vases were blown off of their pedestals and shattered. I tried to save one but came up a little short. Apparently I looked a little like a fool in my attempt and gave some of the folks a good laugh through out the night. You're welcome! The reception was just as amazing with vibrant pink and green table cloths. Amber put a lot of work in the details and it really showed!

Congratulations Amber and Jeremy! Have fun in Antigua! Here are a few images...

vote for brand photo & design

We are thrilled to have been nominated for The Indy Channel's A-List, "Indiana's Best Local Businesses" annual competition! Please vote for Brand Photo & Design by going to the following link:

http://wrtv.cityvoter.com/brand-photo-and-design/biz/53541

We realize it takes a few minutes to register and vote and we really appreciate your support of our photography business!

On a side note (but still related to "voting"), my dad sent me the sweetest email the other day and I had to share his words with you! I don't think it's a stretch to say he is our biggest fan (or one of them!) and this is the email he sent me (as a semi-retired dad)...

Now that I have nothing better to do than ponder the universe, I wanted to let you know how happy I am when I take a few minutes to visit your blogs and websites and everything else creative in your life.

I am voting for the photograph as the best invention that mankind has ever created. Better than the computer, penicillin, nuclear energy or any thing yet to be invented.

When I look at those two dimension snippets of time, the images seem to unfold into all the emotions; love and joy, laughter, sadness and melancholy. Photographs are my personal passport to visiting the past. When we look at our pictures of you and Jordy from babies to adults, it is as rewarding as the day they were taken. When we are old(er), we will surround ourselves with photographs and they will give comfort and meaning to our lives.

I vote for the photograph as being the most relevant and important invention of mankind, and you have chosen a great profession.

Congratulations!

Love,

Pops

I love you, dad! Thank you for always sending so much love and support to us!

olivia and maddy

We had the opportunity to hang out with Olivia and Maddy yesterday in their backyard and luxurious playhouse. These two girls are so cute! They get along so well, but Olivia did inform us that they do fight occasionally, but not too often. So that's good. Towards the end of the shoot they took a break and drank some lemonade while they sat in their chairs like "little ladies." Thank you little ladies for letting us play with you! Here are a few images...

bridget and brian say i do

On Saturday we had the privilege of photographing Bridget and Brian's wedding. They are such an amazing couple! Their wedding matched their personalities perfectly. It was beautiful and elegant with very cool personal touches. For example, each table at the reception was named after a band that Bridget and Brian saw in concert. Bridget informed us during our "month prior" meeting that this group is full of partyers and they did not disappoint. The majority of their guests were still around after the last call at the reception and headed over to Bella Vita for the after party.

On Sunday the newlyweds invited Dan over to photograph their BBQ where two great bands, Gen Hippo and Camp Rhino, merged and reunited for an amazing concert with Brian on lead vocals and guitar. Apparently they haven't played together in 6 years but you would have never known listening to them. Meanwhile Bridget's brother took groups of people out on Geist Lake to enjoy the great weather and scenery.

Thank you Bridget and Brian for letting us be a part of your special weekend! Here is a sneak peek of your images...

building phase 6/20

We have officially begun! Some dirt has been moved! I was driving southbound on I-69 to the downtown studio today and glanced over at our empty lot, as I have everyday since we bought it last July, and saw all kinds of action happening. I didn't have time to stop by then so I had to wait until the end of the day.

Here are a few shots. They may not look like much to you but to us they are the most beautiful images we've ever taken because of what they represent!

traverse city

We've been up in Traverse City, Michigan for my brother's wedding and family reunion this weekend. It's always great to see the fam and I had the privilege of being Steve's Best Man. It was strange to be on the other side of the camera. Every detail of the wedding I saw sent a nervous signal to my brain. "Did I get a shot of that centerpiece?" It was nice to not have to be responsible for all of that. I did have the speech to freak out about though!

Traverse City is so beautiful and has been a blast. Here are a few shots from outside our hotel room...

we broke ground

On Wednesday we had our Ground Breaking Ceremony at the future site of Brand Photo & Design!! We were surprised by around 30 people from Fishers based businesses and members of the Fisher's Chamber of Commerce there to support us. Members of the Fisher's Chamber of Commerce said a few words followed by one of architects, Clete, and then Brooke and I spoke. After that, we dug some dirt! It felt so good to see some dirt turned over. We should be starting the construction phase on Tuesday! With any luck we may be asking for all of you to help us move in sometime in late October, early November! Keep your phones by you! We had our friend, and fellow photographer, Claire Corbin of Claire Corbin Photography snap a few shots...

Here's a shot I took right before we left. This should be the last time this land looks like this!
