the first look at our future studio

Our architects (Haus The Architecture Studio) just sent me these preliminary sketches of our new studio!! I know some things have already changed since these sketches but they are so cool to look at, for us at least, that I wanted to share them! Clete, Chris, and Patrick are amazingly talented and have spent so much time with us really working to make the space our own! I will try to explain the sketches...

mason is 1 year old

On Tuesday, Mason stopped by for his 1 year photos. Mason is definitely in the running for the best behaved kid award! I've never seen such a mild mannered well behaved happy kid! His mom swears he is always like that. He made my job so easy!! His mom, Julie (who we found out attended Purdue at the same time as us), brought so many great props and clothes for him. She even showed us this great trick he does. He actually goes to sleep on command wherever he is! It was awesome! We finished the shoot with a little birthday cake that Julie brought just for Mason. He had no trouble digging in and once he got the taste of cake there was no turning back. Thanks so much for stopping by Mason! I hope you love the photos as much as we do!

tina and joe are engaged

Tina and Joe are getting married next Saturday but they really wanted some fun photos before the wedding. We met last Monday at the IMA and had a great time! They are such fun people... so nice and relaxed, very comfortable to be around! Can't wait for their wedding! See you guys next Saturday!

the time "flu" by this week

We are a little behind this week on our blog (among other things)! Dan and I and Samantha have been stuck in bed with the flu over the last few days....YUCK!!! I don't recommend getting this one, it's nasty! THANK GOD we did not have a wedding scheduled when this hit! That is the scariest thing about weddings. And thanks to our wonderful portrait clients who were kind enough to reschedule shoots or meetings they were supposed to have with us this week. We're trying to get caught up....thanks so much for your patience!

lindsey and jacob say i do

We spent the weekend in Evansville to photograph Lindsey and Jacob's wedding. I (Brooke) grew up in Evansville and went to high school with Lindsey, so seeing so many familiar faces over the weekend made it especially special for us to share in the celebration. Clouds loomed over us all morning through our formals, but the rain blessed us by holding off until the very last guest exited the church and Jacob and Lindsey ran through the crowd onto the awaiting limo. (And then it POURED.) We could not have timed it any better!!! The morning was light-hearted and fun, ceremony sweet and touching, and the reception rocked all night long with a crowd full of energized dancin' fools! We had a blast! Lindsey and Jacob had a perfect day filled with a celebration of love, friendships, family, and laughter. We captured many, many fun & funny moments...way too many to put on the blog, so stay posted for the album coming soon! I actually am pretty sure we broke our record of "most shots taken at a wedding"...so for now, enjoy a few of our favorites, mostly formals for now... (And Jacob and Lindsey, thank you so much for inviting us to share your day with you! We know you have been dreaming of this day for years, so we feel so honored that we were able to be there with you!!!)
