wes and gillian say i do

Wes and Gillian...what can I say but that they are the best!!! I grew up knowing Wes and his wonderful family, and we ran into each other completely randomly at Mike and Lindsay's wedding in South Bend a year ago. That is when I learned Wes was dating a wonderful, beautiful, sweet, classy, lady named Gillian...and Wes learned that Dan and I do photography for a living! Here we are, two years later, having the honor of photographing Wes and Gillian's wedding. How special.

Their families were so sweet and so very close, which always makes for special moments through the day. We we just thrilled to be there sharing in their joy and celebration. Wes and Gillian, thank you so much for inviting us to celebrate with you and for going out of your way to make us feel welcome and special. We are so happy for you that you met each other and have grown together into a special married couple! We wish you all the best!!!! Congratulations! (Enjoy Belize!!!)

evan and abbe are engaged

On Saturday Evan and Abbe met us at Holcomb Gardens for their engagement session & it was meant to be! The entire time we were shooting, loud thunder and dark clouds rolled over us without a drop of rain! It was important to us that we got the shoot done because Evan came in from Cincinnati to do it. We had a few drops towards the end but didn't get anything else until we were heading home & it poured! It was really fun to get to know them at the shoot. They are a very cute couple and sooo sweet! We can't wait to shoot their wedding next June! Evan and Abbe, thanks so much for meeting us out for your engagement session! Enjoy a few images from the day!

studio update

Here are a few photos of the studio from this morning. They hung all of the drywall in one day! They started laying the brick a few days ago but the rain has slowed down the progress a bit.

scott and natalie are engaged

I don't know if we'll ever top the engagement session we did with Scott and Natalie yesterday! Scott works with the elephants at the Indianapolis Zoo (which is his dream job, and we now know why), and through his connection we were given permission to go on exhibit with them!!! The trainers were awesome and let us spend a couple of minutes with Sophi, the 40 year old female elephant in these photos. After the shoot they even let Dan and I get up and close and meet her, and even feel her skin! The elephants were HUGE and it was the most amazing, overwhelming, intimidating (but in a good way) experience to walk among them. Sophi weighs about 9,900 pounds, to give you an idea of how small we felt next to them. So...not only did we have the most amazing experience with the elephants, but Scott and Natalie were alright to work with too! :) Just kidding...they were more than "alright", they are AWESOME!!! They are the sweetest couple and they have so much fun being with each other. We really enjoyed getting to know them on our journey through the zoo and gardens! Scott and Natalie, thank you so much for the shoot yesterday! If you're still looking for a ring bearer, you might think about inviting Sophi to the wedding next June...she was amazing!!!

One of the trainers, Tim, thought they needed some wind in their hair so he brought over an industrial strength fan. Great look!!

studio update

Here are a few recent shots of the progress on our studio! They were shot a couple of days ago and they are already outdated! Those guys are working like crazy to finish everything. We are still on track for a late October to early November completion date!

They're in the process of laying brick now. It will cover the south wall.

dave and andrea are engaged

Before Dave and Andrea came to our studio for their engagement photos today, I asked Dan what they were like. He excitedly said, "They are some of the nicest people we've worked with and they are so much fun. They love to laugh." He was SO right on with his description of them! They are so happy together, so fun to be around, and just like to be in the moment, enjoying themselves. We started in the studio and then went outside of the Rathskeller for their photos, which is special to them because it is where they met and where they were later engaged. Dave and Andrea, thank you so much for coming to us for your engagement photos! We cannot wait until the big wedding day!!!!

andrew and ashley say i do

This weekend we headed to Fort Wayne for Andrew and Ashley's beautiful wedding! They found out about us from Andrew's sister whose family is one of our favorite portrait clients. Referrals from favorite clients always make for new additional favorite clients! :) We love these families and were so excited to share in their wedding celebration! Every detail in every room was perfectly thought out and looked amazing. The ceremony was outside on the patio on the most beautiful day of the year (nice planning guys!), followed by an energizing outdoor cocktail hour, followed by a gourmet dinner served in a beautiful ballroom before heading out to have toasts, dancing, and mingling under the stars. It was perfect, and we are so thrilled to have shared in the excitement of the day.

tony and elisa say i do

On Sunday we were back at the beautiful downtown Indianapolis Omni Severn for Tony and Elisa's wedding. It was fantastic! You may remember these two from their engagement photos. They are SO SWEET and adorable together! By the end of the night we felt as though we had been friends with them for a long time. I'm sure most people feel that way after being with them just a short time. After a few shots at the Omni we hopped on a private trolley ride with the wedding party to the circle to take some photos. After the ceremony, Tony and Elisa took their wedding party to St Elmo's for a celebratory "first shot" toast together while their guests enjoyed a cocktail hour at the Omni. The day was filled with many small surprises and great moments that we are so glad we got to share. Tony and Elisa, thank you so much for inviting us to be a part of your wedding day! We hope you have a wonderful honeymoon and we'll see you when you return!

scott and lindsey say i do

On Saturday we photographed the BEAUTIFUL wedding of a BEAUTIFUL couple, Scott and Lindsey. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were all at the Omni Severn in downtown Indianapolis. Every detail was thought out and every guest was ready to celebrate! We enjoyed the entire day and evening from start to finish! Scott and Lindsey are a very sweet couple, and so easy to work with! They are so laid back and were at ease throughout the entire evening. It is obvious they are truly best friends with each other.
