jackie and matt say i do

We had a double-header for our last wedding weekend (we've had a lot of those this fall!) and I'm so glad!!! Jackie and Matt were a great grand finale!!! In 2006 we photographed Bridget and Andy's wedding and Jackie and Matt are friends of theirs (thanks for the referral, guys!) They are also friends with Jenny and Matt, whose wedding we will be photographing in 2008, yea! This is a stellar group of people and we love working with them!

Jackie and Matt were married at the Robert's Park UMC in downtown Indianapolis. They started with a private first meeting to recite their own written vows to each other. We did most of the formals before the ceremony, and EVERYONE was not only on time, but early the entire day! It was so smooth and flawless. They made it so easy on us!

Immediately following the ceremony we all stopped at Holcomb Gardens for a few fun shots before heading to their funky cool reception at the Music Mill. We had never shot there before & we just LOVED it! Music Mill is definitely for the trendy and hip couple who wants to be creative and show off their style! Jackie and Matt's colors were brown and bluish-tealish (which we obviously LOVE---if you're not sure how you should know that we love them, check out this blog page, the website, the newsletters, etc, etc, etc...ha ha ha). The flowers had brown leaves and blue ribbon among the flowers and specs of these colors showed up tastefully everywhere. The Music Mill was no exception, with the bright colors bouncing through the room.

The food was great, dancing fun, and people fantastic. Dan kept saying all night, "If we had our wedding again, I would play THIS EXACT MUSIC all night!" So kudos to Jackie who had a big hand in the choices, and a shout out to Jason from AMS for a job well done!

Jackie and Matt, we had a blast with you and thank you so much for inviting us to share in your joy!

brandy and craig say i do

We started our last wedding weekend of the year with a bang! Brandy and Craig were awesome!!! I cannot believe our 2007 weddings are over! It really makes me sad, although we will be very busy over the next few months with albums and portraits then weddings will start again before we know it!

On Friday, Brandy and Craig were married at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Indianapolis. What more could we ask for...fantastic couple, gorgeous day, nice families, fun wedding party, beautiful venues! This couple is so cute & they are so sweet! They met on a blind date...and they are perfect together! The combination of world's best event designer, Gary BraVard, with a laid back couple in love always makes for a perfect day. We actually had a first this weekend when a bird flew over Brandy during our formals and pooped right on her beautiful wedding gown! Thanks to Brandy's calm demeanor and a few shout wipes, we didn't miss a beat and had a few extra laughs!

The day was filled with sentimental touches: the ring Brandy wore on her right hand was the ring her grandpa had given her grandma when he started dating her, meaningful music, and a special donation in lieu of favors and in memory of Brandy's sister.

The reception rocked! We LOVE the Indiana Roof Ballroom! Not only is the room classy and timeless, but the service is exceptional and staff wonderful to work with! It was breathtaking. You have to check out Brandy & Craig's cake (shown below). It was definitely the most unique and beautiful wedding cake we've ever seen! The DJ came all the way in from Fort Wayne to play. You will be able to see a video clip of the evening on IndyVisual's blog, who always does fantastic video work! (Thanks, Laurie!)

We are so grateful we were able to work with Brandy, Craig, and the team that put this beautiful wedding together. We hope you have an amazing time in Maui! We can't wait to see you again!

whittington family

After Kim's senior session we headed up to Waterloo, IN to photograph my Aunt Vi and Uncle Ed's family (which would be my cousins!). Ed and Vi live on this amazing land in Waterloo. It is just acre after acre of great landscaping and fun tree houses and trails that Ed and Vi have created for their grandkids. The shoot was supposed to have a "fall" theme, but due to the record high on Saturday the whole bunch were steaming in their fall long sleeve clothes. And unfortunately the mosquitoes were out in record numbers too! The whole group worked through the pain and heat and we were able to get some great photos! Thanks so much for having us up! We had a blast, as always!

kim is a senior

On Friday we headed up to Fort Wayne for a couple of shoots and the dedication of my nephew Ryan. On Saturday morning we met Kim at the Lakeside Rose Garden to shoot her senior photos. Kim is the sister of my brother-in-law. I don't really know what the correct tag for our connection. Unfortunately, but fortunately, there was a wedding going on at the park so we had to stay out and look for something different. I'm so glad we did because we found some great nearby locations that worked out so much better! Kim was fantastic! So laid back and happy! She looked so beautiful throughout the entire shoot that I basically just had to point the camera in her general direction to get a great shot. We finished up the shoot in her backyard at her home. Another amazing location! Thanks so much for allowing us to shoot your senior photos Kim! We hope you love them as much as we do!
