Michelle is such a good friend of ours that I often forget she was a wedding client before we ever got to know her! Michelle and Travis got married before our blogging days and we are just thrilled to announce they are adding a little baby boy to their family in just a few short weeks! People often ask me how we get so lucky to have such beautiful pregnant clients for photos, and I honestly have no idea. But we do! Michelle is no exception, being stunningly beautiful and perfectly shaped! :) We've gotten to know her over the last few years and she and her husband are both some of the most fun, welcoming, funny people and we love them! They are also some of the most organized people we know (we are secretly jealous) & I'm anxious to learn from her how to keep all of the toys, books, clothes, and baby stuff from over-ruling your house! (If anyone can do it, they can!) Baby Clark will be so lucky to be welcomed into this loving household! We CAN'T WAIT to meet him!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats, Michelle and Travis!

Happy birthday to our latest Grow Baby Grow graduate! Little Luke is 1! I can't believe it! He's gotten so big and developed such a great little personality! I've photographed him 3 times now and I don't think I've seen him get upset yet. I'm not sure how his parents do it but I think they should start teaching classes!

Tasha and Safi were one of our FAVORITE wedding couples EVER & we seem to have a theme of traveling to see each other!! We felt like instant long-time friends as soon as we met in 2006. We actually met Tasha in Arizona for her initial wedding meeting (we were going anyway and she was going to medical school there). Then we traveled to South Bend for their wedding....and they drove all the way from Toledo to visit us and have their beautiful daughter, Yasmeen's photos taken!!! We're still working on getting them to MOVE to Indy.....we just love them and wish we could see them often. This family is not only adorable on the outside, but they are truly special and beautiful people inside too! Before our blogging days we photographed Tom and Erin's wedding and instantly fell in love with this couple! We were SO excited to get the news that Erin and Tom were expecting a little one of their own (see maternity HERE)!!! Avery joined the world a little over a month early - healthy as can be as tiny as he is! We are very excited to watch him grow up. He is very blessed to have such caring, wonderful, loving parents and we are so happy for this family of three! Congratulations, Tom, Erin, and Avery!

Sierra and Alexis are daughters of Radka, a good friend of mine for many years! Radka and I used to work together, so these days I don't see her nearly enough (used to be daily!), but when we do get together, we pick up right where we left off! Radka is one of the most giving and caring people I know, and her girls are just as sweet too! They have grown up so much over the years and it was amazing to see them so adult-like! The Rohens are good sports! Someone thought it would be a good idea to go downtown on one of the coldest days of the year for a session (sorry guys!). They handled it very well and after a couple of warm breaks (thanks Ambrosia) we got some great shots! They all look like models so my job wasn't too difficult! I met Sarah at my previous job about (?) five, six, seven years ago? I can't remember exactly because I feel like I've been friends with her for my entire life! She and her husband both are the most outgoing, bubbly, positive, wonderful people I know and their kids radiate that positive energy as well!!! Sarah does our trade shows for us when we can't be there and she is amazing! If you are ever in a bad mood - just call Sarah! She will make you smile in an instant! I've known Bobby for 10 years now, which sounds insane to me. We were Sigma Phi Epsilon pledge brothers back at Purdue. We've been through some fun times. Now we are all grown up with real jobs, or at least, he has a real job. He's a great guy and I was happy to hear he recently got engaged to Alix! Alix is equally as awesome! This was actually my first time meeting her and she definitely passed my extremely non-official, but still important, test. I was so excited when Liza and Mitch were interested in having maternity images taken. They are a great couple and soon will be great parents! Little Ezra will be here in a few weeks! Jill is a wonderful friend of mine from college and as long as I've known her, I've known Shaun too! They were high school sweethearts & are one of those rare couple you know will be together when they are too old to remember each other's names.... and will still be in love! If I could say one thing to describe Jill, she is probably the nicest person I know. In 10 years I'm pretty sure I've never heard her say a single bad thing about anyone, ever. She is amazing!

Last year Jill and I found out we were both having baby girls (her first and my second) and our due dates were 3 days apart!!! {At the last minute we both started freaking out about the possibility that we picked the same names for our babies!} But no worries! :) Alexa and Natalie's birthdays are 8 days apart, and I love the fact that Jill and I can share so many stories and memories together with our girls these days! Jill and Shaun drove in from Cincinnati with Alexa to have these photos taken and we are so appreciative of their time with us!!!! Jill and Shaun, THANK YOU so much for sharing Alexa with us! We love you so much, love that little girl of yours, and we already can't wait to see you again!!!

This is a strange post to do because Dan is having me write it before I see the photos! We were so excited to do a photo session of our own girls to put our Christmas cards together (It's not too late to book your session for the holidays!), and I asked Dan if he would put me through our entire "process" just like our other clients get to do. So, tonight I get to check the blog over and over and over until I see the sneak peek (because as I am writing this there are currently no photos).....and I am jumping out of my skin excited!!!!! Then, I will get to see all of my images in our viewing room on the big screen this weekend and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

I met Dan at the park with the girls, a stroller full of clothes and hats, and bags full of snacks, milk, and candy (bribes)! Considering sessions of our own children are usually the most difficult ones we do (near impossible), we were both delighted with how the girls got along and behaved! Hence, my excitement for the photos! So, here is the sneak peek! I can't wait to see it! :) Special thanks to Carrie for helping out and putting up with us and our kids.

Max is a senior at Noblesville. He is really interested in landscape architecture, which made the IMA the perfect place to have his senior photo session! Our little Jackson!!! Some of the children we photograph just touch our hearts & we love watching them grow up, photographing them every six months or so. Craig and Brandy are two of the sweetest people we know, and we were thrilled when we found out this 2007 wedding couple of ours was going to have a baby!!!!! Logan and Amanda... AMAZING couple, BEAUTIFUL wedding, FUN day, WONDERFUL people!!! Although it started of a little cold, I dare to say that Logan and Amanda snagged the last fall day full of beautiful leaves and colors! By the time the ceremony ended, the sky was full of sunshine and we enjoyed walking around the campus at Butler (where Logan graduated) taking photos! Logan and Amanda were so sweet, so caring, and welcomed us into their lives like we'd been long-time friends! We loved everything about this couple and this wedding! We loved them and their families, we loved the tribute to the military, we loved the hilarious fraternity traditions, and the day went by so fast we were sad to pack up at the end of the night! I received a call from Marie, that her son, Sean, won a gift certificate at a silent auction and wanted to try to set up a photo shoot of their family before their other son, Stephen, a Marine, went to Afghanistan. I was honored that 1. Sean bid on our certificate, and 2. to be given the chance to photograph this amazing family at such a unique time in their lives! Stephen and Jen were actually married the day before our session but they luckily weren't too "photoed out" so I was able to get some great shots of the two of them. I really enjoyed spending time with the whole family! Thank you all so much for spending some time with me! We are extremely thankful and humbled by Stephen's bravery and wish him safe travels.

I was so excited when Julie called and asked me about photographing her wedding. She is very sweet and beautiful and just happens to be marrying one of my fraternity brothers from Purdue. Tim and Maggie were married on the beautiful grounds of the IMA & we were so honored to share in their day! Before Maggie went out to meet Tim for the first time, she and her girls were talking about how you always remember one thing about someone's wedding, and that what everyone would remember about theirs is how cold it was. Well, it was a little chilly, but I disagree that the cold weather in itself is what people will remember. My bet is on the blankets that were passed to guests as they entered or the hot coco that was served during the ceremony... the memorable blessing Maggie's brother made when he married them... or the smile on her dad's face when he announced them as husband and wife for the first time... the special touches Maggie's mom added through the entire day... Tim's dad's moving toast that left not a dry eye in the place... the laughter coming out of the photo booth... or most of all, the way that Tim and Maggie looked at each other during their first dance. Dan was recently in Arizona and he had the opportunity to photograph some of our dearest friends in the world!!!! HOW JEALOUS AM I that he was there, enjoyed the sunshine, (did some work), and stayed with and was catered to by this adorable family of 4! JoAnn and I worked together years ago in marketing and sales. Since then she moved 1756 miles from us (that is a 26 hour car drive) to the most beautiful, energetic, magical place - AZ! We've not only remained friends, but we've actually even become much, much closer since her move and I feel so blessed and honored to have her in my life! She honestly is one of the most amazing women I know. I just LOVE her and her family so so so much! JoAnn, her husband Kevin, son Tommy, and mom Maryfrances, wandered through the desert with Dan so that he could play with new scenery, good friends, and his camera! What troopers! :) (I think they had fun too!) :)

It is a dream and goal of Dan and mine to one day own our own property in Arizona. Until then, we can enjoy short-lived visits and wonderful vacations with our amazing friends.... next one is in March, and me and the girls get to go on that one!!!! Hooray!!!! We can't wait to all see you in 5 months! We love you sooooo much!!!!!

We had the honor of photographing Erin and Tom's wedding in 2006, so we were delighted to hear this adorable couple was expecting their first baby --- Little Avery! Tom and Erin are seriously the sweetest, cutest couple, and this baby boy is going to be the luckiest little guy on earth to have them as his parents! Erin is gorgeous and it was so fun to capture her pregnancy! She has the tiniest little figure with a cute baby bump! We are SO EXCITED to meet Avery!!! Jack and Sandra, and their families, have to be the NICEST people we've ever met!!!! I mean, it's their WEDDING DAY----and on the very first time Jack inquired about using our services (months and months ago), I mentioned that his wedding date was on my birthday. Well, not only did he remember, but so did everyone that was there! The entire family was getting ready to walk down the aisle and they all started singing happy birthday to me in unison ---- what?!?!?! I mean, I cannot explain how sweet and caring and loving and wonderful everyone was!!!! The wedding was small and intimate, full of people that truly LOVE Jack and Sandra and the day was full of happy tears!!! The wedding was outside on a beautiful day that followed a week of rain. Keith and Amanda were married last weekend and it was an absolute honor to photograph their wedding day! Amy and I have been friends since high school. We went to Purdue together where she met Ben. Ben was on my dorm floor freshmen year so I take full responsibility for their successful relationship (even though I didn't really know Ben at that time and I don't think she met him until a couple of years later)! They are some of the sweetest people you could ever meet! Anyone who knew Amy growing up knew she would be a great mom so I guess that's why she was blessed with two right off the bat! Ah, Cooper!!!! THE BIRTHDAY BOY!!!!! And my "nephew", because Jessica has always been like a sister to me!!!! I love these three with all my heart and soul!!!! I have known Jessica since I was 3 and Bryan since we were really little too!!!! I don't have many memories of my life before they were a part of it. I am so blessed to have them in my life and Cooper is such a blessing too!!!!!!!!!! We did this session the day before his party, but I have to mention that his party rocked too!!!! He had a huge blow-up slide and moonwalk bounce house thing and so much for all the kids to do! Ashley, Madison, Ian, and Sebastian were also a cute sibling foursome in Evansville and we loved getting to do their photos too! Jessie used to babysit for the girls a long time ago when I used to nanny for two (unrelated) boys, and we used to take all the kids out together all summer long! I hadn't seen Ashley or Madison in years (they were much younger, which makes me feel much older), and they, along with their brothers are so beautiful/handsome!!!!!! Last weekend we traveled to Evansville to attend my dearest friends' son's birthday, and while we were in town we did several family's photo sessions of her extended families. Max, Isabel, Finn, and Quinn we the cutest bunch of kiddos, and they were so well behaved!!! The most hilarious thing to me was that as they were smiling and behaving like perfect angels for the camera, they were hitting and pinching each other from behind...it was quite a site & so funny! We spent last weekend in Fort Wayne to photograph Phill and Kim's wedding, and it was absolutely wonderful!!!! Kim looked stunning, and it was really fun to watch Phill and Kim together throughout the day - they are perfect together!

Phill is the youth pastor at the church, as it was obvious throughout the evening that he and his new wife are very much respected and admired by the church family as well as their own families. We have known Kim and her family for a long time, and it was very special to share in Kim's wedding day with the man she loves and both of their wonderful families. Brandi and I have a mutual friend, so I had heard a lot about her before she scheduled with us and I was SO excited to meet her, her husband BJ, and her adorable daughter Elle! They brought Elle in for her one year photos and this girl was amazing! Ben has been a friend of mine for many, many years.....and I feel like I truly started to get to know him on our first day of college. When I spotted him across the dorm lobby as I was standing all by myself, scared and nervous, he had the same terrified look on his face and we immediately sprinted toward each other! Ha ha...makes me laugh. He met his wife, Jackie, in college too and we've all been great friends since. Last March they had a BEAUTIFUL set of twins, Alex and Olivia!!! They live in Connecticut, so I had to wait over a year to meet the little ones....and last week was it!!! Ben and Jackie, thank you SO much for making the trip all the way to Indiana (driving through the night, literally) and for coming in for some photos! It was awesome to see you and to finally meet your little princess and little prince!!! They are adorable and oh so fun!!!! You're braver than we are, but we hope to someday make a road trip out to see you too!!!!

the good, the bad, and the furry

We've had a lot going on at the ol' studio lately! We have been trying to get the studio together so we can finally have that open house we have been teasing everyone with. We've had so much help from our dads, shelf building, hook hanging, lawn mowing etc. It's great to have such handy people around to use as free labor!!

Unfortunately, with every step forward, we seem to take a step or two back. Our beautiful bamboo floor that we proudly laid ourselves is buckling and floating in the hallway. Apparently it is not sticking to the concrete. I finally got fed up with dealing with the "fun house floor" at the entrance that I ripped out a section last night. Once we finalize things with the insurance company I will rip out the rest. Anyone looking to get out some pent-up aggression let me know. It is very therapeutic to rip this stuff out! Hopefully we can get the floor prepped and ready for round two soon!
